This course has been designed to familiarise yourself with the basic features and functions of Microsoft Project Professional so that you can use it effectively and efficiently in a real-world environment.

By doing this course you will gain years of experience with using Microsoft Project to plan and manage the delivery of projects. As you become fluent with the software, so does your growth of personal development.

In this Microsoft Project course you will learn to develop project plans, manage project resources and learn how to report project status. Whether you are a project manager, team leader or team member, this course will be highly beneficial in providing a comprehensive guide to project management.

Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Identify project management concepts and navigate the Project 2016 environment.
  • Create and define a new project plan.
  • Create and organize tasks.
  • Manage resources in a project plan.
  • Finalize a project plan.
  • Update a project plan to reflect progress as you execute the project.
  • Monitor project progress in the project plan.
  • Adjust the project plan to control constraints.
  • Create project reports to share a project's status.
  • Customize project settings and share customiSations with other projects.

You will create and manage a project schedule using Microsoft® Project 2016.
You will also manage and customize project plans during the implementation stage of a project.

This course is designed for a person with an understanding of project management concepts and who is responsible for creating and maintaining project plans, it is also designed for students with an understanding of project management concepts who are responsible for creating and maintaining project plans.

PREREQUISITES
Students enrolling in this class should have the following:
  • A general introductory-level understanding of project management concepts.
  • Basic end—user skills with any current Windows operating system.
  • Knowledge of other Microsoft Office 2010 applications would also be helpful, but is not required

The Speaker

Having been a practicing consultant in project management for more than twenty-five years, Dave Fourie’s long career in program and project management brought him in contact with various project management methodologies and best practices in private as well as public organisations.

This includes PMBOK, Method 123 as well as PRINCE2 environments in the fields of software development, service delivery, quality and general management. Dave brings his theoretical knowledge linked to vast practical experience into the training environment with a genuine desire to assist delegates in becoming practicing project management professionals.

Valuing a relaxed and enjoyable learning experience, he loves sharing his passion for project management through actual examples dished up with a touch of humour.

Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) since 1998, he also holds several other portfolio, program and project management certifications such as certificates in Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O), Managing Successful Programs (MSP) and in PRINCE2. He also holds certifications in IT Service management (ITIL) and Total Quality Management (TQM).
